The Dufour 48 ODSea+ hybrid sailboat takes everything sailors already love about the Dufour 48 and adds something truly forward-thinking: a remarkably efficient hybrid system. Designed by Umberto Felci with interiors by Ardizio Design, this model delivers the same elegance and high performance that define the Dufour range. Thanks to the OdSea+ hybrid system, you can now move almost silently through the water, feeling even closer to the wind and the sea. It’s a sailing experience that’s not just about performance but also about connecting to nature, with innovations that enhance the sailing experience.

Designed for Living Onboard

As you step below deck, you’ll find the familiar comfort and versatility that make Dufour yachts such a pleasure to live aboard. The Ardizio Design team has made the most of every inch, offering three-, four-, or five-cabin layouts and two galley configurations – either along the side or forward by the mast. The saloon features a welcoming hexagonal table that creates a social environment and better flow through the space, while generous windows flood the interior with light. Whether you’re planning a private cruise or thinking about chartering, this ODSea+ electric sailboat balances elegance, practicality, and a quiet power system for a revolutionary, future-focused approach to sailing.

Power, Reinvented

Instead of relying entirely on a traditional diesel engine, the OdSea+ version introduces a remarkably smart energy system. At its core is a 25 kW electric motor sailboat system powered by a 400-volt battery pack (available in 27 or 32 kWh). Add in a 14 kW diesel generator, a hydrogenerator producing around 1.5 kW while sailing, and solar panels on the T-top delivering another 1,300 watts, and you’ve got a sustainable sailing yacht that can generate and manage its own clean energy as you go. Everything is controlled through Dufour’s Black Box interface, with panels both below deck and at the helm, so keeping track of power and performance is effortless and feels intuitive.

Performance and Efficiency Under Sail

Of course, there is more to the Dufour 48 ODSea+ than its innovative technology. Just like with other Dufour models, it still sails beautifully; it’s fast and keeps a high performance standard. Felci’s hull design gives the Dufour 48 sailing yacht the kind of speed and responsiveness that makes sailing feel pure and instinctive. During testing, she handled close-hauled conditions with surprising ease, reaching 7.8 knots at 36° and consistently close to 10 knots downwind with the gennaker flying. Even better, the hybrid system proved itself capable of hours of sailing without ever needing to start the generator. Between the hydrogenerator and solar panels, power levels stayed steady, proving that sustainability doesn’t mean compromising on performance and efficiency.
