Launched at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival, the Excess 14 represents the next evolution in the Excess catamaran range. It’s a 44-foot catamaran that embodies the yard’s mission to meet the growing demand for catamarans that combine onboard comfort with the thrill of sailing.

Sailors don’t have to choose between liveability and speed; the Excess 14 delivers both in equal measure. With its smart layout that enhances movement and connection, the Excess 14 carries the signature Excess DNA forward in a next-generation model.

Performance Meets Everyday Comfort

Equipped for a hands-on sailing experience, the Excess 14 catamaran design features a well-centered mast, low boom, and square-top mainsail paired with a generously sized overlapping genoa for an efficient and powerful sail plan. Twin aft helm stations give the skipper better control and a direct connection to the rudders, while asymmetric hulls help reduce leeway. With one of the best weight-to-power ratios in the 44-foot category, the Excess 14 is fast, responsive, and fun to sail.

The Excess 14 catamaran layout features wide decks with flush-mounted hatches for safe and easy movement onboard. The extended bimini protects the cockpit from the weather, while a large sliding window creates an uninterrupted flow between the saloon and cockpit.

Built for Seamless Living at Sea

Constructed and designed by the acclaimed VPLP Design team, Patrick le Quément, and Nauta Design, the Excess 14 is the product of expert naval architecture. Every element onboard this vessel is focused on enhancing sailing performance and onboard livability.

The catamaran measures 45.9 feet in length overall, with a beam of 25.9 feet, and features a draft of just over 4 feet, allowing access to shallow waters without compromising on stability. The Excess 14 is available in a number of different cabin configurations, ranging from 3-4 cabins.
