Scheduled for launch in 2026, the Fountaine Pajot 55 catamaran is poised to become the smallest flybridge model in Fountaine Pajot’s lineup. At 55 feet, it bridges the gap between the Aura 51 and the Samana 59. It offers the accessibility and practicality of the Aura 51 while boasting a flybridge similar to larger models such as the Samana 59. Looking at the exterior of the FP 55 catamaran, it’s not hard to see where its inspiration comes from: the flagship Thira 80. With integrated solar panels, a solar hardtop, and a spacious forward cockpit flush with the salon, the FP 55 looks like a small flagship model. Designed with owners in mind, the FP 55 offers the effortless circulation and intuitive layout that have become hallmarks of the Fountaine Pajot brand, combined with the latest innovations.
At nearly 17 meters, the FP 55 arguably delivers the space and versatility of a much larger yacht. Layouts range from the standard Maestro with one owner’s suite and four guest cabins to a double Maestro featuring two owner’s suites or a six-cabin version optimized for charter. Standard propulsion comes from twin 80 HP engines, complemented by a total upwind sail area of 110 m². With a beam of 8.8 meters, a draft of 1.85 meters, and generous tank capacities (1,220 liters of fuel and 800 liters of water), the FP 55 specs make it ideal for extended bluewater cruising. Its integrated 6,300 W solar system supports eco-conscious sailing, enhancing autonomy while reducing dependence on a generator, making this model a clear step forward in Fountaine Pajot’s pursuit of sustainable cruising.
The Fountaine Pajot 55 layout is all about enjoying the outdoors, evident in the many spacious and versatile social areas. The foredeck features two settees with ocean views on each side of the central sunbed. Common on larger models, the forward cockpit sits flush with the salon, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience through the forward salon door. And we cannot talk about the FP 55 without praising the flybridge as one of the highlights. It stands out for its size, offering a seating area with a modular dining table, a full-size grill, and an integrated forward helm station that keeps the captain at the center of social activity. Another highlight, the cockpit, generous and inviting, is an ideal space for dining, relaxing, or entertaining. Just steps from the water, the transom incorporates a starboard-side grill, and the entire aft living space flows naturally into the bright and airy salon.
Inside, the FP 55 draws inspiration from the Aura 51, evident by the well-equipped galley, the full-height fridge and freezer, and the central island that separates the outdoor cockpit and the indoor galley. The salon includes a U-shaped lounge that can be arranged for dining or relaxation, while panoramic windows fill the space with natural light. The owner’s suite is accessed directly from the transom for added privacy. The owner’s cabin bed has been positioned facing the ocean with excellent hull-window views, and the stateroom is accompanied by a spacious bathroom and dressing area. Thanks to multiple guest cabin configurations, this yacht is flexible and comfortable enough for both private and charter use.
