Every catamaran in the Excess range offers an increased sail area thanks to the position of the mast further forward and a lower center of effort with the boom tucked in close to the coachroof, which is possible in the absence of a flybridge. The twin helms are located all the way aft in direct connection with the rudders for even more sensations while under sail, though visibility towards the opposite bow is a necessary compromise with this layout.
